WILMINGTON - A North Carolina Green Business Fund grant workshop will be held on December 1st from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cape Fear Community College North Campus Auditorium in Wilmington.
The N.C. Green Business Fund offers competitive grants to assist small businesses to develop and commercialize promising green products and services for the marketplace, alternative energy technologies, and workforce development. The key objectives of the workshop include:
1. To provide general information on the NC Green Business Fund – (who is eligible and types of projects)
2. Applying for an NC Green Business Fund award
3. Writing an NC Green Business Fund proposal
Established in the 2007 Legislative Session, the North Carolina Green Business Fund awards competitive grants to North Carolina organizations with innovative projects focused on three priority areas. In the 2008-01 Solicitation, the priority areas included:

Development and commercialization of the biofuels industry

Development and commercialization of the green building industry, and
-
Attraction and leverage of private sector investments and entrepreneurial growth in environmentally conscious clean technology and renewable energy products and businesses.
