About IT Services
IT Services (formerly Computer Services) is Information Technology Services of Cape Fear Community College. A unit of Cape Fear Community College Business Services, our main office is located in the Galehouse Building ('A' Building) in Room A217.
Our staff is dedicated to keeping our students and staff up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What We Do
IT Services houses and administers the administrative and student IT systems. We also provide end-user support for both systems. Some of the network and systems housed and/or supported are:
- Colleague System
- CampusCruiser
- BlackBoard
- SurfCFCC (Wireless Network)
- CFCC's Website
- SmartCarts
- GroupWise (faculty/staff email)
Our systems at the Main Campus (downtown Wilmington NC) and our North Campus (Castle Hayne, NC) are housed in rooms with dedicated A/C, UPS, and off-site data storage for disaster recovery.
In addition to the college's networking, and computer services, IT Services also houses, and supports CFCC's PBX phone system.
IT Services provides online documentation for many of our systems and services, and also provides various training sessions throughout the year. We have also compiled a useful list of resources for home computing that include anti-virus software, spyware protection and removal, and much, much more.
